How to add trust badges under the Add to cart button in Shopify

Trust badges are small icons with short lines like Secure checkout, Free returns, and Fast shipping, right next to the buy button where shoppers hesitate.

They work best when they're honest and specific to your store. Don't claim a guarantee you don't offer.

1. Check your product page blocks

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize and open a product page.
  2. In the product information section, click Add block. Look for an Icon with text, Text, or Custom Liquid block.
  3. If there's an Icon with text block (Dawn has one), add it, pick icons, write a short line for each, and drag it under the Buy buttons block.

A Custom Liquid block also works for simple badges if you're comfortable writing a little HTML.

2. Build custom badges in code

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes. On your theme, click the ... menu and choose Duplicate, so you have a backup. Then on the theme you're editing, open the ... menu and choose Edit code.
  2. Find where the buy buttons are rendered on the product page (often a snippet such as snippets/buy-buttons.liquid).
  3. Add the badge markup right after the buttons: a small row of icon plus text pairs.
  4. Style it so it stacks neatly on mobile and matches your theme's text size and colors.

</ul>

</style>

3. Or ask Liquify in one sentence

Liquify is an AI theme editor for Shopify. Type the change in plain words and it edits your theme for you, on a draft copy, with a live preview. Nothing changes on your store until you publish.

Questions

Do trust badges increase conversions?

They can help when they answer a real worry at the moment of buying, like returns or delivery time. Generic badges that don't match your policies can do the opposite.

Should I use payment logos as trust badges?

Shopify themes often show accepted payment icons in the footer already. Under the buy button, short policy lines usually do more than another row of logos.
